Is Grace Street Towers a rental or condo building?
Grace Street Towers is a rental community. We lease apartments for 12 to 24 month periods. Shorter term lease may be available.

Is Grace Street Towers strictly a senior building?
Grace Street Towers is considered an independent living facility and hosts mature adults of all ages. While the building houses mostly senior residents, we do have many younger residents living here as well. This age dynamic gives our community a unique atmosphere that you cannot find anywhere else.

What is included in my rent?
Grace Street pays for almost all of your utilities. Included in your rent is heat and cooking gas, Comcast Digital Cable, water, trash disposal and recycling. We also have an on-site community room, additional building storage and a fitness center which are open to the residents 24-hours a day, free of charge. The community room features a TV, an internet enable computer, as well as public Wi-Fi which are all free to the residents.

What services do I have to pay for?
You are responsible for your own electricity, phone and internet. Laundry is also a pay-per-use service, but is located on the first floor of the building and is open 24-hours a day for your convenience. Additional fee-for-service programs offered at Grace Street include discounted housekeeping, meals program and an on-site wellness center. Please keep in mind that these services are optional for all of our residents and can be added or removed at anytime as the resident’s needs change.

What types of programs and events are offered for the senior residents at Grace Street Towers?
At Grace Street we offer a variety of programs and outings for our senior residents. These events range from holiday dinners to movie and play outings to weekly Bingo games and crochet sessions. We also have a weekly shopping bus which goes to Jewel, Aldi and Target. Most of the events are free to the residents and those that aren’t, typically only require a small fee. Please see this month’s Events Calendar for an example of the activities that we offer.

What happens if I need additional care?
Grace Street does not provide on-site care since we are an independent living facility, but we work with a number of outside caregiver and health service agencies. These agencies provide a wide range of additional services and can come directly to your apartment to help you out. Please contact us if you would like more information about the outside caregiver services that we work with.

Is Grace Street close to shops and dining?
YES! We are located in the beautiful neighborhood of East Lakeview. You are steps away from Chicago’s Lakefront, Wrigley Field and express public transportation which can take you directly downtown to Michigan Avenue shopping or other attractions. Our neighborhood is home to numerous restaurants, bars and theatres. Our building is also conveniently located within half a mile of three grocery stores for all of your shopping needs.
